submitted into evidence, with my whole heart βοΈ
TheΒ Case
forΒ Madhura
I built a whole case. Exhibits, evidence, the works.
(counsel, you're going to want to read to the verdict)
the evidence, your honor
Exhibits: You
The lawyer
You negotiate contracts for a living, which means you'll win every argument we ever have. I've made my peace with that β honestly, I'm a little looking forward to losing (some of) them.
The mermaid
Your friends call you jalpari, and the swimming posts back them up. You swim like the water owes you something β I'd love to tag along for the morning laps.
The painter
I've seen your paintings now, and I keep thinking about them. There's a whole little world in your hands that I'd like to see more of. (Yes, I'm still angling for that Starry Night phone cover.)
β¨ tap to see the real one
The dancer
You do salsa; I have two left feet. I'd still like to be your partner β show me the steps and I'll meet you halfway.
The clumsy one
Self-described clumsy, with a sprained ankle or two to prove it β including one at Loco Bear. Turns out I'd been to that same trampoline park, so honestly, we were always going to collide.
The reader
You've read more books than I'll manage in a few lifetimes, usually with an audiobook going while you cook. I love the way you talk about them.
The true-crime one
Your idea of cozy somehow involves a small town and at least one murder. It's a little alarming. It's also completely endearing.
The dirty mind
You have a way of saying something perfectly innocent and leaving me thinking about it for a week. Please don't stop.
The cook
You cook for the people you love. I would very much like to be one of them β teach me a little, so we can cook together? I'm pretty good at chopping.
the record so far
Four dates in, andβ
Exhibit A β our first date
a walk, ramen, and rain we didn't mind. I had a really good time. I think you did too.
The List π
Pinned- β₯Emperor's New Groove
- βKimi no na wa (our agreed date-night pick π€)
- β₯Project Hail Mary
- β₯Zapatlela (Tatya Vinchu β our shared first horror)
- β₯Gone Girl
- β₯The Sheep Detectives
- β₯Twilight (better with company)
- β₯Five Feet Apart
- β₯Toy Story (the plushies insisted)
+ "Not getting murdered" β you made me add that one.

Exhibit B β our second date
Coastal food, then 15,000 steps as two shadows on a wall. You were cold the whole walk β next time, I'm bringing you a jacket. And somehow you got me to say a few things out loud I usually don't.

Exhibit C β our third date
We finally watched Kimi no na wa β the one we pinned on the List β projected on your wall. Somewhere between the comet and the credits, we stopped watching the movie. No rush on the rest; I'm right where I want to be.
Same playlist (almost) πΆ
click to unleash π₯Two Swifties β you found her in 2020, I've been one since 11th grade. I once named a stray cat Swiftly; you've got a TS faves playlist on repeat. The other half of our taste? Gloriously, unforgivably unhinged.(click for proof π₯π)
Lulu, Windy & you
Lulu the cat, Windy the dog, and you β easily the cutest household I've come across. If the plushies ever get jealous, I promised it'd be Toy Story, not Annabelle β and I plan to keep my word.

Exhibit D β our fourth date
Momos at a Nepali spot, then I watched you hunt down a dress, a scarf, and two books. Dessert back at yours β interrupted only by a work call I'm still a little annoyed about. I walked out with your books by mistake; consider them hostage until next time.
the defense rests on
What I bring
Through the good and the bad.
Good days, bad days, and the dull stretches in between β I want to be there for all of them. When something's heavy, I'd rather sit in it with you than leave you to it alone.
I'll cook for you.
I cook on weekends, and I'd gladly make it more often if it's for you. You're always the one feeding the people you love β let me feed you for a change.
I like what I build.
Software engineer by trade, and I genuinely like what I build β maybe a little too much. I'm getting better at logging off on time, especially when there's a good reason to.
Off the clock.
Slowly learning the piano, and rarely caught without an audiobook going β so we'd never run out of things to listen to. (I tried keeping plants once. They did not survive the experience. Could use some help there.)
closing argument, then I'll let the court decide β
Madhura, will you be my girlfriend?
(the "No" button has no standing in this court β and keeps fleeing the stand)
(no pressure. but the evidence is, frankly, overwhelming.)

respectfully submitted,
Shreyas
